Top Trends: Glowing In Bronze, Super Sized Coats, and Clever Cut-Outs

The FashionTV panel have put their heads together to bring you the top trending looks for this Fall. You can catch 24-hour live coverage of all the latest catwalk looks straight to your screens with FashionTV and online.

Beautiful in Bronze

It’s Fall, the leaves have turned, and so have our wardrobes. But while talk of the trending town is more gold than a James Bond villain can point a finger at (yes, Goldfinger), we turn our attention to the richer, stronger metallic of bronze.
Whether you choose to wear it as a statement accessory, rock a head-to-toe look, or simply paint your nails with the metallic brown, going for bronze this season will bring out a warm-glow in you.
Amongst many of the designers advocating the bronze attack are Hakaan, Haider Ackermann, Rochas and Temperley. While the exquisite use of dip-dyed bronze hair at Prada was the sight to behold on the Fall 2012/13 runway. For more ideas on this seasons trending looks, check out our Fall 2012 galleries for RTW looks.

Supersize Me

Oversized is the new size this season, as we gear up for an extra cold winter. So rather than stuffing and squeezing your layered-look into a fitted Winter warmer, the designers have gone for a practical solution by modernising the classic wardrobe piece and supersizing coats.
Cocoon coats and pillow-sleeved jackets are all the rage this season -- but beware fashion followers -- If you’re going to go supersize, you’ll need a few handy tips to stop you from looking like a sack of potatoes!
First up, is contrast. If you choose the billowing look make sure it’s neatly contrasted with slimline trousers, bare legs, or a pencil skirt to prevent you from drowning in the look. Next up, big hair. This is the key to preventing your head from looking the size of a small tomato. Finally, always keep one equation in your head: B (big) + S (small) = OS (oversized success)!

Clever Cut-Outs

While covering up is dignified, a clever cut-out is a sexy and simple way to send out a seductive message this Fall. And hurry up on in there before it gets a bit too nippy! Just take a look at the fun cut-outs from Carven, willow dresses from Jil Sander, and lace splicing from Elie Saab. And be inspired!

Which of our top three trends will you be rocking this Fall?

Poppy Delevingne 4 Hollywood

Popp

There’s something in the air in Hollywood, and model Poppy Delevingne is off to find out what it is. One thing’s for sure... our screens are about to get a whole lot more fabulous... darling!

Not only did Cara’s big sister, have us in gushes over news that her and longtime boyfriend, James Cook, were engaged last week. But now, the model and Chanel ambassador has us jumping in our seats at the news that she’s heading to Hollywood to pursue a career in film!

Poppy posts engagement card fun @DelevingnePoppy
But it’s not her first pop at acting. Back in 2000 the blonde bombshell landed a small role in short film “Perfect,” as well as playing herself (a model!) in satirical comedy “Pirate Radio,” in 2009.
Poppy’s big-screen ambitions follow shortly after little sister Cara bagged herself a role alongside Keira Knightley in the recently-released Anna Karenina remake.
One thing’s for sure... thanks to the Delevingne sisters, our screens are about to get a whole lot more fabulous... darling! And there we were thinking Poppy would be busy planning for her big day.
“I’m leaving him already because I’m off to Hollywood to try my luck as an actress,” she told British newspaper Daily Mail.
“I’ve always wanted to be in films and I’m not sure I can stay a model forever.”
Well, we’re sure Cook won’t be too down in the dumps while she’s away -- after all, having a supermodel-come-Hollywood actress for a wife sounds pretty sweet to us!

Pudsey’s fashion makeover

The likes of Alexander McQueen, Victoria Beckham and Prada have given Children in Need's faithful mascot Pudsey a high-fashion makeover to raise funds for the charity.
BY Phong Luu | 23 October 2012
Pudsey by Alexander McQueen
It's Children in Need time again, which means Pudsey's back - and this year, everyone's favourite fuzzy one-eyed mascot has a makeover. Actually, make that makeovers. Twenty-nine top fashion designers have been given the job of sprucing up the little fella: Alexander McQueen's surprisingly whimsical jewelled pink bear boasts a matching eyepatch; Prada's dons a pair of the house's sold-out flatforms; Gucci's comes in full equestrian gear; and Tom Ford's is booted and bespoke suited. Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham 's has done a Andrej Pejic by indulging in a spot of cross-dressing - Beckham has designed the first girl version of the bear by putting Pudsey in a dress.

The collection, curated by Katie Grand, LOVE magazine's editor and Louis Vuitton's consultant, will be exhibited in Selfridges in London and Manchester from today until November 14, before going to auction. A limited-edition run of three bears that have been given the fash-over by Anya Hindmarch, Paul Smith and Selfridges will also go on sale.
SEE ALL OF THE DESIGNER PUDSEYS HERE
Other designers who have created a special Pudsey include Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, Loewe, Sibling, Mulberry, Giles Deacon in partnership with Swarovski, Katie Hillier, Henry Holland, Jonathan Saunders, Smythson, Donatella Versace, Missoni, Pucci, Gucci, Norton and Sons, Diane von Furstenberg, Fendi, Balenciaga, Anya Hindmarch and Kate Spade New York.
Here's a closer look at some of our favourites:
Katie Grand for Louis Vuitton
The look: Pudsey goes up-and-into-the-bag market - he comes with a handle and zippered feet compartments for stashing bits and bobs.
Describe your bear in one word: "Hot."
Describe your bear's character: "I think he's on a solid Parisian diet of croissants, black coffee and cigarette."
Bear style icon? "His bear idol is Fozzie Bear."
Victoria Beckham
The look: Pudsey gets his Andrej Pejic on - Beckham's is the first lady version of the boy bear.
Describe your bear in one word: "Super-chic."
Style tip: Match your outfit to your accessories. "The Victoria Pudsey is wearing a bespoke Victoria Beckham Signature dress made of a blush dense rib jersey accessorised with matching bandage - very stylish and a complete one-off."
IN PICTURES: Pudsey's designer makeover for Children in Need
Prada
The look: Pudsey does vintage.
Fun fact #1: The print used on the bandana is a Holliday & Brown (luxury tiemakers??) design from the Sixties that has been exclusively revamped for Prada.
Fun fact #2: Prada Pudsey is wearing the house's best-selling flatforms, which sold out when they were first introduced last summer.
Tom Ford
The look: Modern teddy bear dandy.
The mantra: Looking good is all in the (meticulous) detail - ivory linen double-breasted suit, cotton-silk polka-dot shirt, silk jacquard bow tie, Italian crocodile loafers, panama hat, gold-rimmed sunglasses, TF-embossed gold button eyes and gold bar cufflinks. Even in bear sizing, we probably couldn't afford any of those pieces.
Alexander McQueen
The look: The pink one from the Care Bears - but blingier.
Flower of choice: Cherry blossoms - the organza and enamel flowers have been hand-embroidered onto Pudsey.

SHOW SOME SKINGRAFT
October 16th, 2012

Every once in a while, Fashion.net gets to go out into the real, non-digital world of fashion. On Friday night, we found ourselves in Los Angeles where we were media partners with one of the most anticipated events of LA’s ‘don’t call it fashion week’ SS’12 presentations, as Skingraft showcased their latest collection in an avante-garde fashion show. The show was actually more of a live exhibit, and featured a line of statuesquely motionless models wearing the beautiful, darkly inspired looks, overlooking the pool of The Mondrian Hotel with great views over the city of Los Angeles as the backdrop. They presented some of the edgiest, boundary pushing designs to come out of LA for a long while. To read more about the show,  or if you’d rather just enjoy the event in pictures, visit the LA Times for the slideshow.
